A night after being shut out, the Cubs managed just one run. Greg Maddux allowed five in his return to Atlanta and Derrek Lee left early with a sore shoulder. Todd Hollandsworth drove in the lone run on a homer.

Roman Colon allowed just a solo homer, yielding seven hits and striking out four in seven innings to earn the win. Meanwhile, Marcus Giles went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored to lead the offense. Kelly Johnson chipped in with an RBI and two runs.
